About The Event
Tauranga Civic Choir is excited to present an original work celebrating Matariki by Tauranga composer Nigel Williams. The composition has eight pieces, beginning and ending with sung karakia. It will be accompanied by a string quartet, piano, flute and percussion. Texts for four of the pieces are by esteemed Māori poets Apirana Taylor, Sir Haare Williams, Robert Sullivan and Hone Tuwhare.
When: Saturday 6 July, 1.30pm and 4.00pm (two performances)
Where: St Peter's In the City, Corner Spring St and Cameron Rd, Tauranga
Price: Adults $20 online and pre-sale or $25 at the door. Children free.
